Youth School of the Sustainable Development in the Carpathians – Living with Large Carnivores

Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the VGP Foundation has supported local partners in strengthening environmental education and reconnecting children and communities with nature. Building on this long-term commitment, this project promotes coexistence between people and the Carpathians’ iconic large carnivores through innovative education, community engagement, and the creation of a permanent Green Classroom in Synevyr National Nature Park.

Restoration of Transcarpathian Peatlands ‘Chorne Bagno’

Peatlands are a unique and often overlooked ecosystem of global importance. Although they cover only around 3% of the Earth's land surface, they store more carbon than all the world's vegetation combined, making them one of nature's most powerful allies in the fight against climate change. This project aims to restore the unique Chorne Bagno peatland ecosystem in Ukraine to protect biodiversity, strengthen climate resilience, and support sustainable land management.
