Tarta Dog Project with NABU International for the Protection of Sea Turtles in Calabria, Italy
This project protects loggerhead sea turtles along Calabria's coastline by combining innovative canine nest detection with conservation monitoring and public awareness activities. In 2025, specially trained dogs helped identify seven previously unknown nests, demonstrating a promising new tool for safeguarding this vulnerable species.
